9 yrs ago at age 47 I had a gruesome ski wreck in Utah. Complete knee dislocation. Severed ACL PCL. Badly torn MCL and both meniscus’ damaged. I had great medical care and rehabbed myself carefully. I skied again the second season post op. It was a great return … no problems. A few years later I pretty much said adios to skiing. Too many scheduling conflicts and too time consuming. Last week…3 years later I accidentally found myself back on the ‘no room for lollygaggers’ slopes of Mt Baldy at Sun Valley. Even with very little prep or recent hard work outs I skied very smoothly with no knee problems. Annnd now I just don’t think I can cheat myself out of skiing anymore

My message is this. Rehab slowly and purposefully. There is much more good time coming than you think. Prepare for THAT.
