AV Block: 2nd degree, Mobitz I (Wenckebach Phenomenon)

This Friday’s case answer:

AV Block: 2nd degree, Mobitz I (Wenckebach Phenomenon)

•Progressive prolongation of the PR interval culminating in a non-conducted P wave

•The PR interval is longest immediately before the dropped beat

•The PR interval is shortest immediately after the dropped beat Mobitz I

•The P-P interval is relatively constant

P waves appear to be disassociated from the QRS, BUT If it were a complete heart block, we would expect a more regular QRS and at probably a slower rate, as it would be coming from the ventricles.
