Can tympanic membrane perforation be treated medically or always tympanoplasty indicated?
We wait for 3 months so that the perforation heals on it’s own.
We may use antibiotics or medications with proper hygiene to keep the ear dry.
If the perforation remains after 3 months, it has become permanent and we surgically repair the defect.
antibiotics should not be used
Only wait and watch
And keep ear dry
It will heal in period of 3 months
Just keep ear dry and free of infection and wait till 3 months. If ear is infected only then antibiotics required here .
Even if it heals by 2 layers, it is good enough .
