DNB Post MBBS Round 3 allotment

UR Category movements

  1. Minimal shift in Radio (369). Less than 1000 rank shift in Gen Med, Ortho and Respiratory Medicine. 1000 to 2000 ranks shift in closing ranks in most other courses.

  2. There have been decent internal movements. General medicine, Paediatrics have moved by 900 ranks on an average (seat wise). RD seats by 400 ranks average. Respiratory has moved only by 1200 ranks average, however closing rank movement was only 862 ranks

  3. 23% of seats had zero closing rank movements. 72 seats had negative shifts. 61 seats had positive shifts, but less than 100.

  4. 45% of seats had 1000 plus rank shifts (even Gen Med, Paediatrics till rank 10k).

  5. Only 6 candidates had moved from clinicals to non clinicals, possibly because they had better seats in State.

  6. 2183 UR seats allotted in total.
    Almost 1/3rd newly allotted (742)
    A little less than 1/3rd retained their seats(690)
    A little higher than 1/3rd upgraded to a better seat (751)

Mop up

  1. Should have lesser seats than last year. Initial expectation was that it was around 300 seats (when counseling started), but now looks like it may be better with around 400 to 500 seats.

  2. Most mop up surrender seats are from new allotted candidates in the last round (yet to make payment). Gen Med/Paediatrics/RD may have lesser seats in mop up(as a proportion), since lesser number of new allotments in R3 (around 25% only as against 33% overall).

  3. 73 seats from Maharashtra (R2 Joined and DNB R3 allotted) and another possible 30 to 40 new WB candidates is the total impact due to delay. Less compared to last year where 150 seats from Tamilnadu alone were surrendered to mop up.

  4. Mop up is offline. 18th June to 21st June is broad period.

  5. The counseling may be two or three days (but with specific time slot for range of ranks). Rankwise schedule will be released. Each candidate will have a particular time slot in one of these dats

  6. Seat matrix will be released a few days earlier at least. 2 days earlier. Will be updated with last seat resigned till mop up starts.

  7. Happens at NBE office Dwarka, Delhi

  8. List of candidates eligible will also be released. Those who have been allotted in R1 or R2 or R3 cannot participate.

  9. Originals required and biometirc verification will be done there before counseling. Payment to be done there.

  10. Most likely a “Counseling participation Letter” link will be shared. You have to take that along with all originals

  11. DD for 1.25 lakhs will have to be submitted once seat is opted. You cannot take a seat, and then submit DD later. On the spot if you dont submit the DD, you wont be allotted a seat. Next candidate will be eligibel for the seat

  12. No upgradation - but seats can be added till the last minute if NBE is intimated of vacancies. There have been seats allotted without being part of the FINAL seat matrix (last minute surrenders).
