I am 13 weeks post op, hamstring ACL and meniscus clean-up, MCL sprain and tibia fracture

Some encouraging news: I am 13 weeks post op, hamstring ACL and meniscus clean-up, MCL sprain and tibia fracture.

Last week, we took a much needed break to the beach. My PT said I could walk on the beach, in my brace, in my sneakers. Although I didn’t get to feel the sand in my toes, it was great and I actually improved my stamina and my gait. I walked a mile everyday.

This week, PT said I could walk 1 to 1.5 miles outside on the sidewalk. I just walked 1.5 miles with no pain, in the hot Florida sun. My knee and quad feels stronger and I am so happy to be outside again, feeling like I can do normal things again.

Two weeks ago, I was upset because my quad felt so weak. I know now that it is getting stronger. Just wanted to share because I know this journey is hard and the ups and downs are difficult. I’m feeling optimistic today.
