Hello Doctors,
I am starting in a new Trust as a trainee doctor in August and has recently been sent a rota which is a 16 weeks slots, along with the pay pattern calculated as per 16 weeks. For me I am starting with twilight shifts and weekend oncall in my week number 1.
Going through the months, I have noted that the actual number of weeks for the 4 months post is 17 weeks meaning I will have to repeat my week number 1 at the end of my post, making my weekend commitments and enhanced hours more than what it was calculated in my pay pattern. I have emailed around the different departments in my host trust asking if this could be reflected, but the responses are not helpful, saying it is set by a software and will not be reviewed. Any idea how to raise my concern please? Thank you.
To give a better idea of my question, I will be working 5 weekends in 16 weeks which is a 3.2 frequency as per my pay pattern, but in reality I will be working 6 weekends in 17 weeks, making it a 2.8 frequency.
(I had a similar problem with my previous Trust but it was quickly resolved by the rota team.)
PS. The working hours and the rest hours are in line with the junior doctors contract.
