I have recently passed my PLAB 2 exam and I’m applying for registration with GMC.
My pattern of internship is that I have completed a specialty training in Emergency Medicine for 2 years in my home country, and during my training, I have completed rotations in medicine and in surgery, which are both at least 3 months in duration. However, on GMC website it says that it should be in “one branch of medicine AND one branch of surgery”. Will this be an acceptable pattern of internship?
Secondly, I graduated from medical school in May of 2016, but my training started in September. I prepared for a licensure exam for my home country’s medical registration for the duration of June 2016, and had a vacation for July 2016 and prepared for the specialty training exam in August 2016. Will this count as a gap in clinical practice?
