I recently sat for PLAB 1 exam, thankfully I passed

Scored 145.

My resources were a bit different thats why i thought I would share them.

  1. i-medics q bank.
  • did it twice. First time scored in low 60s second time mid 80s
  • a bit more difficult questions than actual exam questions, good explanations
  • read all explanations first go, second go only read the ones I got wrong
  • found it online while looking for a question bank, had an offer so i bought it. Didn’t hear anybody talk about it.
  1. unity notes
  • past exam questions with answers and notes
  • did it only once
  1. plabable mocks
  • final thing I studied
  • did 9 mocks
  • the average score is close to my real score in the exam
  • read only explanations for the ones I noted or got wrong
  • easier than i-medics
  • similar to exam questions
  • Studied for an intensive 6 weeks, some days 6 hour sessions some days none at all.

*Resources i tried and did not like:
Samson notes : random notes, found it difficult to retain the information so I stoped.
1700 and other past exam resources : found unity to be more organized and combines multiple explanations

I probably over studied for a pass/fail exam but better safe than sorry.

My background in Emergency medicine probably gave me an advantage for this exam but still manageable if you study well.
