I started having issues with my recovery. I’m 9 weeks out from pcl surgery and started experiencing some popping going on when trying to walk with all my weight on it. Also feels a bit unstable still. Does anyone else experience this?
It’s very common for it to still feel unstable. Your quad muscles aren’t used to fully supporting it yet. Some balance and stability exercises will help but the best thing is to practice walking; slowly and carefully, heel to toe, trying not to limp. Really concentrate during the short time you have all your weight on your surgical leg.
The popping is likely scar tissue breaking up and/or fluid or air bubbles popping. If they’re not painful, nothing to worry about.
I literally just listened to my daughter’s PT tell her the exact same things today. She’s 8 weeks PO ACL meniscus
