In my country we do a one year internship, but due to the current situation of COVID19 we’re doing a 9 months internship instead of 12 months (in my case: 3 months general surgery, 3 months Endocrinology, 1.5 months pediatrics, and 1.5 months OB).
Question: would that be a problem for my GMC registration? What is the specific requirement regarding the internship in home country?
Ps: I will be working for a year or so in my home country after my internship ends.
I would advise contacting the GMC directly. Everyone has been affected by COVID, UK medical students didn’t even get to do their final exams and they are starting UK internship on time. So they might accept a shorter internship this year if you meet all the other requirements. Best of luck!
