in thyroid cancers on radioiodine whole body scanning does the tumour show increased or decreased uptake of iodine in the carcinogenic area ?
Because cold nodule is malignant but shows decreased uptake of iodine but otherwise we say that malignant cells should take up more iodine.
Like how would a DTC look on iodine scan ?
Metastatic disease shows increased uptake. Normal body structures will not take up iodine. So at any place you get take up in the scan, it’s potentially metastatic
