Is it Herlequin Ichthyosis

Is it Herlequin Ichthyosis Malcolm Pinto sir?

Sir, will you please mention the differentiating features of the three ARCIs

It is Herlquein na ? Collodian baby

All of the 3 ARCIs are COLLODION BABIES

icthyosis vulagaris nd xlinked icthyosis baby born normal no

But these two are not included in ARCI (Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis).

Looks more like lamellar ichthyosis with ectropion and eclabium. Harlequin should have thicker scales resembling armour

If I remember this question right, colloidon babies are seen in the ichthyosis disorders that manifest early in life. Harlequin is the most extreme form of ichthyosis with parchment like membrane. X linked also manifest early in life. So does lamellar. However icthyosis vulgaris is the most mildest of all and manifests after about 6 months. So it never presents as a colloidon baby.

X linked will have cryptochordism. Lamellar will have ectropion and eclabium. Harley Quinn will have have scales and parchment like membrane… Thick skin cracking and splitting a part

Harlequin Ichthyosis:

Infants with harlequin ichthyosis are usually born prematurely and are encased in thick, hard, armor-like plates of cornified skin that severely restrict movement. Life-threatening complications in the immediate postnatal period include respiratory distress, feeding problems, and systemic infection.

Lamellar Ichthyosis:

Dark brown, plate-like scale with no erythroderma

Congenital Ichthyosiform Erythroderma:

Finer white scales and underlying generalized redness of the skin.
