is amc a must if someone wanna to get career in these subjects ?

to study radilogy in australia from where can i have information ?
let me know details pls .

I cannot tell you about the prospects in radiology or other specialities. You do not need the AMC exams to get a job but you will need it to keep it (you can works in areas of special needs for 5 years with conditional registration but after that you must sit the AMC exams to obtain permanent registration) unless you already have specialist qualification overseas. If you are a specialist then you can have your qualifications assessed by the AMC.

On the other hand, Plabotomy has a thread regarding AON, please read through it. You may find the answer to your queries there.
tell me one thing…if u go to australia once for the exam…when they take the next exam… do u have to return…or stay there
how many papers they do take… and all about it…plz let me know all about it…

Welcome Naeamz! You need to go to Australia to take the MCQ. You can stay there as long as you like, can afford it, or before your visa expires. After passing the MCQ, you’re then eligible to sit for the Clinical exam but scheduling takes some time.

I am interesting in doing job as medical professional. Kindly guide me to seek jobs or any information regarding it.

Your question has been answered so many times in other threads.

there are no jobs available for a fresh graduate even after amc part 1. icon_rolleyes.gif .i think fresh graduates have to wait until he finishesfull amc to secure a position in australia

Hi surr_amc ,
Thanks for your reply. As you mentioned that no fresh doc can get jobs, but what about the docs who have two years experience in different specialities. I am very keen to do jobs as a medical professional.

if u dont want to give amc, u have to specialise in something, even if it is a diploma, in order to start working as a trainee under the concerned speciality. this again doesnt hold good for all specialities. subjects like psych … easy.
and like NIC has mentioned pls go through the other threads.

can u please tell me how can i get a job in nephrology. i got 5 years of nephrology training from pakistan and want to go to australia asap.

Pls tell me what my prospectives r with ot without passing AMC exams?

I don’t think anyone has an idea regarding MPH in University of Newcastle or James cook, please contact them directly.

Regarding getting pg course after both exams, I don’t think you can do that immediately after exams as you still have to undergo supervised training.

I don’t think anyone will be exempted from the AMC exam. It could be delayed though (eg. you work in an AON without taking the exam)but you eventually will have to take the exam to be able to continue working in Australia.

NEED HELP!!
Hello everyone,
i am recent overseas MBBS graduate and have permanent residency. Can anyone advise me what kind of job i can find before i will pass AMC exams. I will really appreciate your help. Thank you

So you’re a fresh graduate (any experience?) and an Australian permanent resident? Hmm, good for you! That makes it easier for you! icon_smile.gif

Given your position, I think you may apply for internship in Australia. I’m not sure whether supervised training is still a must for PR holders though.

I would suggest that you try applying for JHO positions cos your PR status might be helpful.

I have recently scored band 7 in ILETS with 7 in each module.
Can I get the Job in Australia Without appearing in AMC first…? icon_redface.gif
I have come to know that We can get the Job in Australia on the basis of ILETS score but during this time we have to do AMC… icon_question.gif is it really true…

an anybody tell me…if I do a diploma or MSc in Dermatology/ Gastroenterology from a UK university…say… Cardiff University…wud that b considered as PG degree in Australia? i mean will that make my way easier?

Indian pg degree is valid in australia so ofcourse uk degree is obviusly valid without amc. I heard that austria preffered southern doctors (south africa, new zealand) & Britain doctors.

AND IS PROBLEM OF GETTING SUPERVISED INTERNSHIP IS THERE , YOU MUST HAVE RESERCHED A LOT PLEASE HELP ME DOCTOR

I do not know who is spreading these rumours that non-specialist doctors from non-competent authority countries can get jobs without AMC exams. From the year 2010 ,National law in Australia only allows doctors to be registered after the doctor has at least passed the AMC MCQ exam and showed his English proficiency. Nowadays, even only having the AMC MCQ pass is not enough ,one needs to pass the AMC Clinical as well if one wants to keep the hope of getting a job alive.
