Is there any change in Aspirin pre op?
As previously it was continued till surgery but is there any update that it should be stopped before 72 hrs.
Isn’t it always stopped before surgery?
We try to continue if there is no major chance of bleeding until surgery; otherwise we stop 3 days prior to surgery.
But I am conforming whether now we have to stop 3 days prior to all the surgeries.
The Antiplatelet effect of Aspirin lasts as long as the lifespan of a platelet, which is 7-10 days. This Timeframe should be considered if aspirin is discontinued before a planned procedure .It should be discontinued one week in advance
