KEA has changed a rule for people who did MBBS in Karnataka but have not studied

KEA has changed a rule for people who did MBBS in Karnataka but have not studied 10 years there. Now, people like this are not eligible to apply for GMP seats, i.e. private seats in private colleges. Instead, they have to compete with MBBS graduates from all over India, in the OPN category of seats.
Many people have thought that this is unfair. A few have approached lawyers and are planning to file a petition in the Bangalore high court soon. The lawyers have assured them that what KEA has done goes against Article 32, and that the case will be dismissed quickly.

People who are willing to be part of filing the case kindly send your

•Phone number

On WhatsApp to 9916036997 in a single message.

If you do not want to disclose your identity but would still like to contribute, please message on the same number mentioned above. We do not require your names to be there on the petition, but it would help if we got 30 names at least.

Arrey u sure ??same problem was there last year the students approached court and kea govt lost the case?there was delay in the counselling last yr.how come same thing again happen this tym?

Tomoro we r gng to file but we are as f nw 19 people oly… We need minimum 40…last year 44 people have filed the case… We r in talks with the same lawyer who has fought the case last year n he Is very positive tht we will win it again

But we need support …if we r able to gather 40 people Thn it will 14k per head n thts a very small amount for our career I feel… So Pls guys cm Frwd n help us

Guys pls come forward and support otherwise …

Its also posible that only tat candidate got benefited those names in petition
Same situation was occurs in kerala many yearback…So make secure urself nd support

What about the other states? Are they too open to people from other states participanting with them?

but now students who studied mbbs in Karnataka but not a domicile can compete for the govt Seats right?

you guys want seats in Karnataka and ur state, u are already eligible for govt seats and opn seats…what more do u want. We have studied in Karnataka throughout, we don’t have extra state option like you guys do.
Stop being greedy

Karnataka MBBS Grads come under Clause A… Clause A can apply for Govt seats… Hv u read the manual properly???

This happens every year…and each time case is filed against kea and they loose it always since they are wrong. So file case and you have high chances of winning it

TO ALL PEOPLE WHO THINK “OUTSIDE STUDENTS” ARE SNATCHING THE SEATS OF KARNATAKA STUDENTS

Majority of the other states are following one simple criteria …

IF YOU HAVE DONE MBBS FROM X STATE THEN U R ELIGIBLE FOR STATE COUNSELING OF X STATE

that’s it.

REST OTHER CRITERIA are there which vary from state to state.

BUT in KEA BULLETIN … Clause A students are not eligible for GMP SEATS.

Most of the students who have blind idea about students WHO RESIDE IN OTHER STATE are getting chance of attending counseling in two states :

On paper there is nothing written. But at the time of registration in other state counseling they will ask us to fill the name of UG college which will a list of colleges in that state only and not of medical colleges of Karnataka.

So we cannot argue with that … as they have the defence of laying honest criteria … UG FROM OUR STATE THEN U R WELCOME TO DO PG ALSO IN OUR STATE.

But KEA keeps on trying to insert the 10 year schooling criteria.

That is the reason that KEA lost the case last year.

Only 50% of private seats in private colleges is reserved for Karnatak people! The rest 50% is available to everyone as opn seats! No one is barred completely from taking a private seats! Add this part in the message you are spreading, so that who are not dumb won’t take part in this foolish step and lose money and waste time! Anyway all the best for the people who are filing case! There’s no chance you guys gonna win!

I don’t understand how u can see this as a fair thing…open seats 50% is not a joke it shld be lesser definitely…how can students who have no connection with state apply under state quota!?

The rest 50 percent everyone from India is eligible.
Why should I being a kannadiga have to suffer

so you filing a case requesting to make opn seats available to only those non-kannadigas who did MBBS from Karnataka?
