    ie small cell vs large cell, central vs peripheral.

  2. LOCATION
    The tumour can be in critical areas such as the posterior cranial fossa

  3. LOCAL EFFECTS
    The tumour can obstruct the airway, compress the great vessels like the pulmonary artery or superior vena cava syndrome seen with Mediastinal tumours.pericardial effussions, ascites etc

  4. GENERAL EFFECTS
    Fever, wieght loss , anemia, thrombosis, raised ICP, spinal cord compression, tumour lysis syndrome, Hypercalcemia, Acute renal failure

  5. FUNCTIONAL TUMOURS
    The tumours may secrete hormones eg Carcinoid tumours, MENs

  6. THE EFFECT OF THERAPY
    Chemotherapy- Pulmonary (Bleomycin) Cardiac (Doxorubicin) Renal (Cisplatin, Cyclophosphomide) CNS (Vincristine)
