Many of us know getting into the residency program in [#Canada]

Many of us know getting into the residency program in #Canada for the #international_medial_graduates (IMGs) is really difficult. We, from the Department of Family Medicine, #University_of_Calgary, Alberta, Canada are doing a research on #IMGs regarding barriers to their licensure and alternative career and their potential contribution to the community health and wellness. We believe this will produce evidences with which we will be able to ask and advocate the policy makers for taking necessary measures to facilitate integration of IMGs to the Canadian job-market. Also, we will gain evidence-based knowledge on alternative career options (e.g., research, laboratory, echocardiography, USG tech etc.) for IMGs and the relevant skills they lack for these careers that will guide launching bridging/training programs down the road to help them achieving respective career successfully.

We are doing a #Canada_wide #online_survey among IMGs regarding these concerns as a first step towards potentially improve the IMG situation. Alberta International Medical Graduate Association (AIMGA) is our partner organization for this project. We will arrange a #raffle_draw within the participants (50 gift cards, each $10 worth).

If you #live in Canada and are interested to participate in the research please comment or inbox the name of the #city and #province you are living in and I will comment/inbox you the #survey_link thereafter. Others can tag/inform (if they don’t mind) your friends/relatives living in Canada.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks and regards
