Mitral & aortic valve stenosis

MITRAL & AORTIC VALVE STENOSIS

Is a narrowing of the mitral and aortic valve opening that blocks (obstructs) blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle. And from left ventricles to the aorta for systemic circulation.

Usually results from rheumatic fever, but infants can be born with the condition.

The stenosis does not cause symptoms unless it is severe.

So if u know u have prolonged sign and symptoms of Rheumatic fever which u keep on mistaken as common cold or flu for morethan 5 to 10 weeks on and off together with strep throat better u get tested. Early diagnosis of these infections and treatment with antibiotics are key to preventing rheumatic fever.

If not it’s going to spread via hematogenous and cause RHEUMATIC HEART DISEASE that can directly destroy ur valves and kills u in short period.

SIGN’S AND SYMPTOMS OF RHEUMATIC FEVER

  • Sorethroat
  • Nasal discharges
  • Chest pain.
  • Rapid fluttering or pounding
  • Chest palpitations
  • Lethargy or fatigue
  • Nose bleeds
  • Stomach pain.
  • Painful or sore joints in the wrists, elbows, knees, and ankles.
pain in one joint that moves to another joint. Etc.

If u have 4 to 5 of those symptoms for a long period of times despite taking medication u need to have: ANTISTREPTOLYSIN O TEST or DNASE.
