Pakistan started Emergency Medicine back in 2000. In 2 decades we produced less than 10 ER physicians.
On the other hand India is producing more than 100 ER physicians every year , Egypt has produced more than 1300 EM board certified so far, both these countries started EM after Pakistan.
This is the reason Why Dr Ash has to establish PEMA, we cannot just sit , watch and wait, some one has to take initiative , some one has to think out of box.
We are not blaming anyone , every one did their best what they could but now it’s time to rise and do things differently.
PEMA will soon be launching FRCEM/MRCEM training programme at national level all across Pakistan , we will recruit Drs from all provinces , we will teach and train them , there will be no barrier for them, they don’t have to pass any part one theory exam to join this programme.
With this programme PEMA will train 100s of ER physicians while they are in their own cities , in their own local hospital.
