Please remember two new NOTES (natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) techniques
POSE - Primary obesity surgery endolumenally - In POSE, endoscopically the stomach is plicated from inside (see image). This leads to reduction in the gastric volume without any tissue being removed (as in sleeve gastrectomy). Advantage is that this procedure can be done without any scar.
ROSE - Restorative obesity surgery endolumenally - After sleeve gastrectomy, some patients can develop distention of the sleeve after a few years and this can again lead to weight gain. In such patients, the stomach can be plicated endolumenally and the same restriction can be achieved.
