Query on available fellowships in Public health

Hi, I am a postgraduate in Community medicine and currently looking for opportunities of joining as a research fellow in UK, I have a couple of questions as to

  1. Is it necessary for me to complete PLAB if I am not going to practice as a physician?
  2. What are the requirements for doing a fellowship in UK.

Hello Nivethitha, Please go through the following
website for information on Fellowship of Public Health in UK : www.fph.org.uk

The gist of the information is as follows:
1.FFPH is a program in UK which allows you to do a fellow ship or else work as a faculty.
2.FFPH : Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health.
3.FFPH is available to the members and non- members who have been accepted into a specialist register in public health, usually the GMC specialist register or the UK public health register (UKPHR) which will lead to automatic election to fellowship of FPH.

Irrespective of the program, few things that need to be considered are Expenditure to pursue the fellowship , entrance exams like PLAB and long term use of the fellowship program to advance your career and financial status.

I am more aware of DrPH program in USA or else PhD in basic sciences.
