Hello. Recently I am seeing many are being dissuaded from attempting PLAB because of gaps between degree and internship. Let me please share some things with you all.
First, no where on GMC website does it say those with gaps will be denied. Yes it is preferred that it be done right after but it is not always possible.
Next I will talk about myself. As many may know from an earlier post, I tried USMLE and that route but ultimately came for PLAB. Since I had planned for USMLE, I did not do internship as USA does not need it. So 2+ years wasted later, I did internship, PLABs, and got GMC registration.
Yes GMC asked me a lot of questions. Yes it was frustrating. Yes I became hopeless. But I told the truth. I explained myself. I waited.
They needed lots of information and papers completed but I kept at it because I wanted this. So if you want something, go for it. Many of us see only the failure of others and not their success. Don’t give up.
