Some information on interview emails, match and prematch programs

Some information on interview emails, match and prematch programs.
1-Most programs do not use ERAS as their invitation medium and it varies from program to program. Some programs send an IV through a personal email, some use interview broker, while others use ERAS. On ERAS and interview broker, try to accept invitation as soon as possible as their might be slight discrepancy between the number of invitations and total number of interview slots. A few hour’s delay might result in losing that interview and getting into wait list.
2-Most programs have an NRMP code that suggests their participation in match. However, that’s not true for some newer programs. Some programs might be the first time participant to the match and they get their NRMP id late in November, and after then they send it to you via an email.
3-Prematch programs do not have an NRMP number.
4-On most occasions, Prematch programs do not offer a contract right away, but send it to you in 2days to 2 months via an email. They give u a time ranging from a dat to a week to decide. But, if u r going for an IV to a prematch program, always think ahead, and try to know about that program and their time frame of offering a prematch.
5- Do not use your ERAS as a medium for sending an email to show your interest in a program. However, if u r asked something through ERAS, u can reply through same thread.

Good luck.
