World Health: Spraying streets with disinfectants causes health risks
In its latest recommendations, who warned that spraying disinfectants on the streets does not eliminate the corona virus but also involve health risks.
According to a health organization document, spraying these materials in open space like roads and markets is not recommended to kill the virus because cleanser loses its impact on dirt and rubble.
She added: “Even in the absence of organic substances, spraying chemicals are unlikely to adequately cover all surfaces for a period that allows for the elimination of pathogens”.
Global health also confirmed that streets and sidewalks are not tanks for the corona infection, adding that spraying disinfectant can be harmful to human health.
The document also stressed that spraying individuals with disinfectants is " not recommended under any circumstances ", as " may be physically and psychologically harmful and does not reduce the eligibility of the infected to spread the virus ".
She pointed out that spray chlorine or other toxic chemicals on humans could cause skin infections or in the eyes.
The organization also warned against the ongoing spraying of indoor surface, citing a study that showed that this is not effective in areas directly sprayed.
She continued: “If you use disinfectants, this should be done by soaking a cloth or a mop with disinfectant”.
The new corona virus can stick to surfaces, but no accurate information is currently on how long it remains able to spread.
Studies have shown that the virus can stay on several types of surfaces for days, but this period remains a theory because it has been identified in laboratory conditions and must be “interpreted with caution”.
