LERICH SYNDROME

An old, smoker, with hypercholestorlemia presents with compliant of pain and leg cramps on walking and also a bit hypertensive.

Some weeks later after being discharged with prescription of lifestyle modifications, he comes back with complaint of (impotence and gluteal pain).

Explained by,
Early complaint was caused by atheroma of internal iliac artery and its followers (femoral and profunda femoris).

Late complaint is due to atheroma hitting External iliac artery including (pudendal)
