The next type of necrosis is caseous necrosis.
Caseous means cheese like. There is a friable yellow white area of necrosis a sseen in this image
On microscopic examination the necrotic focus appears as a collection of fragmented or lysed cells with an amorphous granular pink appearance in usual H and E stained tissue.
Unlike with coagulative necrosis the tissue architecture is completely gone and the cellular utlines cannot be made out. This area of caseous necrosis is surrounded by inflammatory cells.
This characteristic appearance of area of caseousnecroissi surrounded by inflammatory border is called as granuloma and is classical of tuberculosis.
