To woo the non medico mango people…the voters.
To make is sound like a very positive change instead of a chutiyapa which it is in reality.
By the way where is IMA? Why has it gone silent?
Repeaters do know what to do, current final years donno what to expect, current interns may not get degree so easily, foreign nationals donno what to do, AIIMS passouts would have a problem finding work in govt hospitals, corruption increases… Don’t seem like there is a benefit for any student or resident.

It’s going to level the playing ground. A lot of people from private medical colleges pass MBBS with having worked hard enough. They won’t be able to clear NEXT, so they will have to actually study their ass off to pass.
That’s going to ensure better quality of doctors.
Folks from government colleges will clearit easily. So they need not worry.
As for an entrance exam. Previously there was all India , then neet now it’s going to be next. Ultimately it’s knowledge that matters. Irrespective of whatever the nomenclature is.
