Hey everyone,
You guys helped me alot. So Iโm sharing my experience as a payback to this group !
Iโm a 5th year student
๐๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐:
A) Subject-wise:
1-Pathology: Pathoma
2-Pharm: Sketchy pharm
3-Physiology: kaplan ( the worst mistake iโve ever made in my life)
4-Microbiology: Sketchy micro
5-Behavioral science: B & B and dirty usmle for ethics
6-Biochemistry: Dr najeep
7-Anatomy: B&B + shelf notes
8-Immunology: B & B
By resource:
1-First Aid: done 5-6 times, 5 stars, a must-do,
2-Pathoma: Must do, almost all you need to know about path.
3-Sketchy: I think this is a gift from God. The best resource out there.
4- PIXORIZE ; visual mnemonics like sketchy
5-You tube ; dirty usmle
6- Anki : i had created my own cards for the second pass of UW which helped me alot
Qbanks:
UW twice - the gold โฆ I believe that itโs cover 90% of exam questions โ do it as many times as you can โ80+% first pass โโ- ~94% second pass
Old NBMEโs: I did some of them as a qbank
assessments:
NBME 16: 250+
UWSA1 : 262 โ 2-3 months before
NBME 21: 260 โ1 month before
NBME 20 -22 -230 : 250 + people says these are under predict
NBME 24 ~ 265
My exam postponed another 15 days which I think was the reason of my score drop as i was exhausted and couldnโt study or even revise well for the last 2 weeks
UWSA2: 258 5 days before
NBME 18: 255 3 days before
Free 120: 89% or 88
step 1 (5 march )- 257
๐๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ:
1-In my humble opinion,The more questions u do the higher your score will be .
2- never postpone your test when you feel ready โฆ this had a negative impact
3-Donโt compare yourself to others. Everyone has their own strengthens and weakness so what might apply for others may not hold true for you.
4-You will have days in which you feel like you are not making any progress but donโt give up. Take a break whenever u feel this way, do something outside of medicine
5- the new update of NBME report is completely useless
So i would recommend doing UWSA2 at least 2 weeks before your test as its score report is the only one now can show you your weakness
Good luck on your test, I hope to see you on the other side soon
Feel free to ask any questions.
