You wont’ get a UK job with just PLAB, you need MRCS or MRCP in order to be successful.

False

PLAB is enough to secure a job in the NHS. Having a postgraduate qualification such as MRCS or MRCP is a bonus and will look good on your job application, however, it is not essential. Completing MRCP/MRCS with the idea that it’s the only way to get a job is misguided.

The vast majority of IMGs will start working in the UK in a non-training job at SHO level. MRCS or MRCP are not required to secure these types of jobs. It can help for registrar level roles, but again it is not a requirement.

So if you’re worried about not getting a job because you don’t have a postgraduate qualification like MRCP or MRCS, don’t be. Hospitals will take your entire job application into account including your interview performance. They will not base your application simply on the presence or absence of additional qualifications.
