6 feet down, 6 feet long!

What’s the one thing people, will protect at all costs and never open about? love life, monetary stuff, exclusive business stuff, bigger promotion or even an affair. THERE IS A WINNER – ‘peoples own mind failing them’. Yeah, let’s not bat too much about the crust, lets dive in deep into the core of the issue of everyone’s best kept secret

What this pandemic has taught us, is not being immune to the killer virus is the utmost issue of concern. It’s the temperament to be okay with things that have changed in our day to day routine - being held inside the four walls of our house, seeing the same faces all day long for very long time, will take its toll. Added to it, the financial constraints, job insecurities, feeling distant with loved ones living in distant houses and of course the dopamine secreting gang of friends, with whom every moment is just like mining gold, ‘absolute bliss’. Every living being needs to be free in this beautiful round heck of mass orbiting the sun, not just us hoomans, every living being from a tiny grasshopper to giant dinosaurs if they were living right now, deserve to be walking free day or night, they just own it to their existence 100%.

This year 2020, is not just about being cautious about such viral exposures in future, or expecting Armageddon-esque dooms day sequences or expecting alien invasions, its mostly a wakeup call for the highly neuronal developed individual dumbasses like us to give more of an importance to mental health, now more than ever. When the mind felt the gloom, the entire existence of the exterior was apt for temporarily numbing our pain and giving the ultimate satisfaction of happiness with a short half-life, until the next trigger hits you hard down the road and makes you do something even big to grasp every ml of dopamine from your dopaminergic neurons and the cycle goes on until one point, where the individual gives up coz of dried up dopamine stores and even at the point he will be like it’s a temporary blip and he can make it up and assures us not to worry about. But the next thing we know, he/she is dead, they didn’t make it like they said they would, they were having signs of this disaster happening all along but chose not to expose it, instead took too much pride in covering it rather than seek help. What this pride and self-loathing of comeback traits lead you to ?

SIX FEET DOWN

A life gone, in a newspaper or a tv news scroll, makes you feel remorse for a second. If it’s in your locality, you’d spend few minutes to share the grief, and if it’s a relative, it just sticks on with you, forever. We all are connected by the social media, only to be disconnected by conscience in reality. People’s last seen, emoji less texts are the biggest hurt in present generation. Behind every happy smilie , there is an emotion less face :expressionless: fully downtrodden with worries and despair :pensive:. Texting has substituted talking and people are staring at 5inch screens all day long and make themselves believe they are living the perfect life. Even the parents who used to warn us of hours in front of TV, have succumbed to this mind-numbing addictive habit and this new technology ‘takes no prisoners’.

Addiction to this generation, has been made to believe, that it rhymes well with words like alcohol and smoking only.

Anything in excess is an addiction

We all read quotes in a smart screen, ’ Hardwork is my addiction and i’m bound to success ’. Just pledge your hand to the heart and say, how long it makes you feel motivated ? Just below this very quote post from one of the pages, there is a model posing semi-nude, totally changing the perception of yours, even if it ain’t begs to change your mind, there is a video of totally funny tiktok user or amazing facts about earth and beyond.

We just consume everything that’s being thrown at us, and end up being obese in mind (full of unwanted thoughts and memories). With this how do you expect to work it out in a career development perspective, when there is a useless tummy of thoughts bringing you down in your mind. Like your body, needs to be fit for sports and physical activities, your mind needs to be sharp for performing at its best and achieving career goals.

Social media, is like the unwanted calories you binge on and make yourself believe you wanted to consume that for feeling good. Whereas success is like, staying in diet, taking in the tasteless green veggies and working your ass off. So choose your path carefully, both mentally and physically.

Before people didn’t fall prey to this modern world social media black magic as there wasn’t one and it ain’t purely your fault that you are born in this generation and being addicted to social media, living off it and draining your life in the process. All living beings are meant to interact and live amongst each other in harmony. Now, it seems like we are moving physically in life size creatures and living mentally in 5 inch smart screens. Happy or sad, is just by the notifications and likes we smash in social media. Slowly, but surely it will lead to depression on the long run. Depression being multifactorial in its etiogenesis, social deprivation in reality and being addicted to smart phones and gadgets tops the causative charts. This is just another disease, of the mind that we tend to undermine about it because most of the parents don’t even tend to believe mental illness is real and it can affect anyone. Instead they’ll be like, just talking with the family can help it and they will hate to agree to the relative circle and society, that them or their children are suffering from mental illness because they take prestige in almost everything. There is no shame in admitting to being weak mentally. On the contrary, admitting to it and seeking help is the bravest thing one can do in these depressing times. Be it a kid, or a teen or even a well grown adult, no one is immune to it. We can only overcome it, if we get it attended. Just like any other disease, it’s treatable. People just need to believe that it’s for real.

Depression is real and it’s a pandemic that’s killing everyone silently on the outside with chaos of a storm on the inside
