72 Patients Recovered and Discharged, 24 Admitted, 19 found Positive, Two Mortalities due to Co-morbidity

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur has discharged 72 patients and admitted 24 on Monday. 19 samples found positive during tests at VRD Lab.

Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar has informed that presently 225 COVID-19 positive patients are being treated at COVID-19 ward. They include 07 pregnant and 36 pediatrics COVID-19 patients. As per VRD Lab, 19 COVID-19 positive samples include 13 from Rajnandgaon, 03 from Raipur and 03 from Durg.

“Emergency and Trauma services are working 24x7 in AIIMS along with all routine OPDs. All emergency and urgent surgical procedures are being performed. We have provided 400 beds in dedicated COVID-19 wards. Doctors and healthcare workers have been deputed accordingly. We will continue to increase COVID-19 ward capacity as and when needed and also continue to care for Non-COVID-19 patients”, he said.

A 52 year old, male patient with known case of hypertension, diabetes mellitus from Raipur was admitted in AIIMS on 18.07.2020 and diagnosed as COVID-19 positive pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Patient was admitted in ICU with support of Mechanical Ventilation. Despite all resuscitative efforts, his condition deteriorated further and he succumbed to his illness on 20.07.2020 at 1.43 AM due to co-morbidity and COVID-19.

A 32 year old male patient known case of hypertension with seizure, poliomyelitis and right hemiparesis was referred by Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon and admitted in AIIMS on 19.07.2020 at 1.00 AM. Despite all resuscitative efforts, his condition deteriorated further and he succumbed to his illness on 19.07.2020 at 9.38 PM due to rapid Intracrania tension and intracerebral hemorrhage and COVID-19.
