The RIGHT SIDED DOUBLE LUMEN TUBE (RDLT)
The LEFT sided DLT is commonly used though there are a select group of patients that would require a RIGHT DLT.

Because of the variation in origin of the bronchus to the Right Upper Lobe insertion of the Right DLT needs great care with verification using A fiber Optic Bronchoscope FOB

In most cases the Bronchus to the right upper lobe originates 1.5 - 2 cm from the Carina

The Curve and distal bronchial cuff incorporates a slot to accomodate ventilation of the Right Upper lobe.

INDICATIONS FOR RIGHT SIDED DOUBLE LUMEN TUBE

  • Left Sided Sleeve Resection
