A few people are harbouring a thought that girls can’t take surgery.
Let’s start with a story. I did my mbbs from sskm kolkata. In our batch, there was a girl. When we were in our 3rd year, she told me she wanted to be a plastic surgeon. At that time, most of us were clueless about what plastic surgeon did. She went ahead to get top 200 rank in all India exam and top 30 rank in aiims. Took surgery in aiims. She passed general surgery last year, sat for mch entrance in aiims, topped the mch entrance. And yes, you guessed it right, she topped the plastic surgery aiims mch entrance. Her marks was around 85% in the entrance, and one who came second had 65% marks. She already has travelled quite a few countries, and was one of the few students to successfully get an internship in breast surgery in UK
Girls can be better surgeons than guys. This gender bias thing shouldn’t be stopping you from persuing what your heart wants.
Stop being scared of stereotypes. Challenge them and break them.
