Anyone here posted in covid or have experience in treating diabetic positive covid patient please respond

my father tested positive today. Right now he is in covid care centre no symptoms but doctor there prescribed hydroxychloroquine and he have and underlying heart condition so just wanted to know is it safe to give it to him ! What extra precautions needed ?

HCQ is being used in Patient where the symptoms persist even after 1st line of conservative and Symptomatic treatment . For Every patient of any age or comorbid condition ECG is must . Any QT prolongation or any abnormality in ECG , we don’t recommend to give HCQ . It causes QT prolongation and arrhythmia and can be proved Lethal too 😊.

Hoping for a faster recovery of your dad .

Stay positive !
