Are Physiotherapists Doctors ? Why are they using “Dr” tag?
Many clinics are hiring them for pain management in cheaper prices. Now what about MD PMR ?
No they are not. And they are not allowed to use the Dr prefix either. But its India. The only reason they do this is because of lack of strict punishment, prevalence if quackery and lack of knowledge in public, plus the government keeps trying to put general public against doctors, also some bad apples are also there in doctor community that drive people to go to these quacks instead of trusting a real doctor. Dentists are doing dermatologist and plastic surgery practice, nurses and compounders are doing a doctor’s practice in remote villages and the govt and authorities ignore to punish these criminal activities so they thrive. They take advantage of this. Why do you think these people take these courses like physiotherapy, even Ayush practitioners who will badmouth modern medicine in public are covertly prescribing western medicines because they have the fake doctor tag after obtaining some ayurveda or homeopathy degree? They don’t do this to help people, but to play pretend doctors. Its people’s fault who don’t hold the govt accountable for this kind of mismanagement. These people lack knowledge and over prescribe treatments and make the cases worse and complicated, then these patients come to real doctors eventually and something bad happens they blame and beat up the doctor. As doctors it is also our job to raise awareness about this issue among general public. Its unethical and dangerous practice. India is soon to become a hub for antibiotic resistance because of these people and the public will come at us with their torches and pitchforks when shit hits the fan and will burn us to the ground. These fake doctors will just hide away taking zero responsibility.
Those who did 4.5 yr bpt/ bot with 6 month internship can write doctor
Welcome to Bihar where all compounders and assistants are MD and MS surgeon raise there clinic and earn much then degree holder
Of course they’re not doctors but what is your issue if clinics are appointing them for pain management? Do you deny that physiotherapy has a big role in pain management? Because evidence proves that it does. As long as they’re using non pharmacological methods and patients are happy with that, you shouldn’t have a problem.
