Can someone explain how calcium channel blockers cause petipheral edema(side effect)?

CCBs → peripheral vasodilation → ↓systemic pressure (Precapillary arteriolar vasodilation → ↓P of larger arteries behind it → ↓systemic P, hence tx for HTN), BUT the pressure difference will ↓, → ↑Capillary hydrostatic pressure → pushes fluid out → peripheral edema.
