Can swyer syndrome patients menstruate if we are giving estrogen+progesterone therapy?

Hi, Vishal Vishal,

Yes.

Most individuals with Swyer syndrome do not experience any symptoms until their early teens and they present with primary amenorrhea since they lack ovaries. When hormone replacement therapy is started, these girls will develop enlarged breasts, axillary and pubic hair, regular menstrual cycles, and other aspects of normal development during puberty.

Estrogen alone is given for 1 year for breast development followed by both estrogen and progesterone.

Thank you.
