Choice for any hypotensive like hemorrhagic shock

You said ketamine is agent of choice for any hypotensive like hemorrhagic shock, warfare… But also said it can act as depressant in patient bleeding profusely for hours…

How to differentiate the scenarios?

Practically speaking… it is very difficult.

Only for mcq purpose…

In experimental model … ketamine if given in invivo preperation… it acts like depressant…

In body it stimulates secretion of catecholamines…

So prolonged bleeding…

Whose pressures are maintained mainly due to secretion of catecholamines…

May not have that much benfit …or raise in pressure as expected
