Comparison of DNB 2019 R2 vacant seats with DNB 2018 R2 (UR category)

Comparison of DNB 2019 R2 vacant seats with DNB 2018 R2 (UR category)

  1. There are 729 vacant UR seats this year in DNB R2 compared to 670 in 2018. Almost similar, considering seat increase.

  2. Alteast 250+ candidates within rank 10k (out of around 1000 allotted) can be expected to have moved out. Which also means majority that have moved out are in 10k+ range.

  3. The AI R2 factor has ended and even after that these many seats being available is good. Only positive shift factors remain from now with state r2 movements, additional controls (verfications), and one more additional round.

  4. NOTE THAT Shifts in CLOSING RANKS in DNB R2 2018 were only between 1000-1500 ranks across all ranges. Expectation of shift in closing ranks therefore can be a little higher, not huge. Within specialty movements can be expected with movements up by 1 to 3 options higher, for 50% of the candidates. R3 should have a bigger impact than R2 in closing ranks.
