Cutting baby nails

Baby nails appear from the 3th month of pregnancy. At birth, nails are soft and can even be long (especially in babies born). Usually, it is recommended to wait a month to cut baby nails. However, if baby scratch, it is better to file them with caution from the first days of life. It is very important not to touch the skin that joins the nail (the matrix).

To cut baby nails, use round-end scissors or a special baby nail cutter.
Disinfect the material before use. Prefer a calm moment (see when he sleeps) and hold his hand or foot by spreading your fingers so you don’t risk hurting him.
Cut the nails square by cutting the corners of the nails to prevent them from being embody. You can then gently file the edge to make them less sharp.
