Cytokines of Innate Immunity

Cytokines of Innate Immunity;

IL-1 :
Secreted by: Macrophages, monocytes, endothelial and epithelial cells
Inflammation, fever, induction of acute phase reactants.

TNF α
Secreted by: Macrophages
Inflammation, Induction of Acute phase proteins, neutrophil activation, induction of cell death

IL-12
Secreted by: Macrophages, dendritic cells
Promotes Th1 subset (influences adaptive immunity) by acting on NK cells

IL-6
Secreted by: Macrophages, endothelial cells.
Induces Acute phase proteins, proliferation of and Antibody secretion by B cells

IFN-α
Secreted by: Macrophages
Antiviral, activates NK cells, increases MHC class I expression.

IFN- β
Secreted by: Fibroblasts
Antiviral, activates NK cells, increases MHC class I expression.
