Do any of you have experience with weight loss surgery

Do any of you have experience with weight loss surgery & a fully torn ACL & partially torn meniscus? I feel like I’ve spent my entire life working on accepting & loving my body, & finally got there, then I injured my knee. I have 150+ pounds to lose.

I’m going the non-surgical route for my knee, for now, because I’m higher risk & have made a lot of progress in physical therapy (recommended both my PT & the orthopedic surgeon I saw). But I’m just so worried about long term damage on my knee because of all the weight I’m carrying around. I’ve actually managed to lose 20 pounds since my injury. I know I can continue losing some weight on my own but losing 150+ pounds sounds daunting & overwhelming.

There’s up to a 50% chance of a graft failure if your BMI classifies you as obese, from what I’ve read. In the future, if I lose a lot of weight & need the surgery, I have a better chance of a successful surgery.

Please be kind. I’m fully aware that I’m very fat & the risks that come with it.
