Doc for aortic dissection?
Esmolol or labetalol?

Esmolol coz of

Short half life

Esmolol acts quickly (metabolised by plasma esterase) so doc in stanford B aortic dissection.

I think Labetalol is the DOC as its alfa + beta blocker lowers the pulse pressure and and rapid BP control.

Esmolol (cardioselective) is also rapid acting but is preferred in pts who have asthma, bradycardia etc or we are not very sure about safety of beta blockers to be used as it has short half life

Aortic dissection = IV ESMOLOL
