Does having tattoos on exposed parts like arms highlight you in residency

Hi off topic question

Does having tattoos on exposed parts like arms highlight you in residency in an unhealthy way? Do the consultants and other seniors pick on you due to that or do they bully you due to that?

Will pick orthopaedics or surgery this year and having tattoos I’m scared if it is detrimental to the overall residency experience and contributes to toxicity in general.

Please dont mock, I’m scared for real due to all the prevailing toxicity in general in surgical branches and as residency approaches closer it scares me that much more.

Genuine opinions and advice expected.

Thank you.

You can wear full length shirts/arm stocking to cover

Certainly a possibility. We were told ample number of times all along MBBS about how to look and behave professionally. Tattoos did were almost always labeled as unprofessional. Folks from our generation would be fine however HoDs and HoUs can cause trouble. Stand your ground and be great at your work to mitigate any crap that might come your way.
