Hello everyone, today I heard from a friend that ( a specialist ) can work in his field after PLAP exam in UK, and no need to start residency as in Canada .
Anyone has any idea about that ?
That’s not an entirely incorrect information. Clearing PLAB successfully allows you to be registered with the GMC. That’s about it. Whether you’re allowed to work as a specialist in UK partly depends on the demand/supply ratio and the need for the specialty. There are examples of specialists being recruited from outside UK based on needs for particular specialties.
