How does malignant Otitis Externa leads to Facial nerve Palsy?
Malignant otitis externa leads to necrosis of bone which aids in the spread of infection. Infection may spread to the skull base and jugular foramen causing multiple cranial nerve palsies. Facial paralysis is the most common nerve palsy seen.
