How to differentiate between cong menanocytic nevus and Becker nevus… seem so similar…

Congenital melanocytic nevus

  • Light to darkly pigmented lesion

  • Often with increased hair growth

  • larger than 20 cm in size: giant congenital melanocytic nevus.

Becker nevus:

  • Large hyperpigmented patch with hair (hypertrichosis)

  • Localization: shoulder, upper trunk.

Basically the most important point to differentiate is the location; which is typical for beckers.
