how we will find the degree of hearing loss (not the degree of handicap) from audiogram.
In audiogram itself we having axis of Hearing loss vs Frequency…
Accordingly Hearing loss (In db) by ASHA classification or by WHO we can find degree of hearing loss.
I know that we have classification of hearing loss but how we find that amount of loss of hearing from audiogram that can be put in that classification and degree can be found.
Let say in this audiogram how much amount of hearing loss does person have?? I am not asking about classification .
Degree of hearing loss is mild, moderate, severe and so on.
It is calculated by taking average of the AC hearing in the speech frequencies ie 500, 1K and 2K
