I am asking very stupid question…I am in internship…most of you post to go for your passion in selecting dream branch…but I mean how to know what is my passion…2months of my internship I have learnt only doing jelco, inserting catheter, ryles tube and writing bt note…how to identify which is my passion or not… internship is such a clerical job…even pg students do not give us permission to write advise in bht…and actually final year theory experience and clinics is so much different…I mean surgery was my favourite subject…but that was theory part…no one gives us permission to do surgery in internship…we just have to do dressing or hold an instrument…then how to know what is my passion or not?
It’s not necessary that everyone will have a dream branch. Some people know their dream branch in final year or third year itself. Some people in Internship. Some people never figure out a dream branch. Which is fine. I feel the whole concept of “dream branch” has been exaggerated and overrated. If you can figure out 3-4 branches that you like more than the others…it might actually work to your advantage also…as you’ll have more options to fill for PG counselling, without having the feeling of compromising on your ‘dream’ branch.
So don’t be too hard on yourself. You’ll eventually figure out what works best for you!
