i am unable to understand the difference between RTA type 2 and FANCONIS SYNDROME

Rakesh sir has taught us that in rta type 2 there is generalized dysfunction of PCT and the same is true foe fanconi

So what is the difference between them?

Proximal RTA/t2 RTA is defect in bicarb absorption in proximal tubule. Now this can occur in isolated form or can occur with generalized PCT failure(which is called Fanconi syndrome). So Fanconi syndrome is one of the main cause of proximal RTA

Thank you

But if thats the case then there shouldn’t be any glycosuria and water loss (and secondary RAAS activation which leads to hypokalemia)in type 2 rta but that is seen

that’s what i said: as mostly you see type 2 RTA with Fanconi syndrome that’s why you see these associated features
